The ATxmega chip is a new generation of high-performance, low-power microcontrollers introduced by ATMEL. Compared with the previous mega series, xmega has added 12 ADCs and DACs, with up to 8 serial ports and up to 4 SPIs. With the AES and DES encryption engines, the second-generation picopower energy-saving technology has lower power consumption and higher speed, and its bulk price is also cheaper. The current simulators that support ATxmega are the JTAGICE mkII-CN and XMEGA PDI interface emulators independently developed by ATMEL Dragon, JTAGICE mkII, AVR ONE!, and Mcuzone Microcontroller Electronics. ATxmega's debugging interface is JTAG and PDI two kinds, A1 series and A3 series have JTAG and PDI two kinds of interfaces, A4 because the pin quantity limits, only PDI interface.
This station designed the minimum system board for the ATxmega A3U series, led the USB 2.0 full-speed Device interface, led JTAG and PDI debug interface, led all GPIO pins, and onboard two LED indicators.

The ATxmega64A3U minimum system board is designed for QFP 64-pin A3 series and comes standard with ATxmega64A3U. It can be replaced with pin compatible 32A3U, 128A3U, 256A3U and other A3 series.
